Asian Handicap is a special type of betting handicap. In this betting model, it eliminates the draw option from the equation, thereby increases the number of outcomes from three to two, which also implies that the chances of winning on a single bet has been increased from 33.3% to 50%. The bookmarkers designate a handicap for the weakest team in the match in order to bring the odds for each team has a roughly equal chance of winning.
The system looks strange, but it is not difficult if you know the trick! It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
A. Single Handicap
The Single Handicap is normally written in the following formats:
Type 1
Sunderland (-0.5,-0.5) 1.925

Type 2

Birmingham (+0.5) 1.975
Type 3
Sunderland (-1/2) 1.925

The figure in the brackets is the handicap designated by the bookmarkers and following by the odds ฟุตบอลโลก2022 . In the example above means that Sunderland is virtually half a goal behind Birmingham at the beginning of the match. As a punter, you either pick the favourite to overcome this handicap or the underdog to hold it.
Below are the different types of Asian Handicap that you will see on the online betting system
i. Level Ball Handicap
Level ball means no handicap is given to each of the team. You win your bet when your selected team wins. If the game is a draw and there is no goal difference, your stake will be refunded.
Level Ball Handicap is displayed as below:

ii. Half ball Handicap
Sunderland (-0.5) 1.975

The above example shows that Birmingham received a 0.5 advantage against Sunderland (Birmingham +0.5). If you bet on Sunderland, you win at 1.9 if Sunderland wins the match. You lose the match if draws or Sunderland loses the match, due to the fact that Birmingham is virtually half a goal ahead of Sunderland before the game starts.
Same technique applies to One and a Half Handicap (1.5). When you bet on -1.5 handicap, the favourite team must win with at least a 2-goals margin. When you bet on +1.5 handicap, the underdog will win if the result is a draw, win, or lose by one goal. Usually, the odds of the -1.5 and -2.5 handicap is higher than the underdog’s odds as the risk is higher.
iii. One Goal Handicap
If you select -1.0 favourite, the team must win by at least 2 goals in order to win the bet. You will lose the bet if the less favoured team wins or the result is a draw. If the result is virtually a draw, it means that the favourite team wins by one goal, the stake will be refunded.
B. Double Handicap
The Double Handicap, also known as “quarter handicap” (0.25, 0.75, 1.25, etc), is more complicated than the Single Handicap, due to its split handicap technique. In double handicap betting the wager is split into two.
The Double Handicap can be displayed in various formats:

For quarter handicap, 0.25 is average value of 0 and 0.5, 0.75 is average of 0.5 and 1, 1.25 is average of 1 and 1.5. In this case, your stake is actually split into half with 2 separate handicap bets.
i. Level / Half Ball Handicap (1/4 handicap)
This can be displayed as:-

For example, if you bet on Sunderland, it means half of your bet is on 0, and another half of your bet is on -0.5. If the result is a draw, you will get a refund of your first handicap (level handicap) but lose the half ball handicap. In short, you lose half of the stake if the game is a draw.
To bet on your favourite team, you only win the bet if the favourite team wins, you will lose half the stakes if the result is a draw, and lose full stakes if the favourite team lost. To bet on less favourite team, you will win the bet if the less favourite team wins, and win half a stake if the result is a draw and lose if the less favourite loses the match.
ii. Half / One Ball Handicap (3/4 handicap)
This can be displayed as:-
Sunderland (-0.5,-1) 2.00
Birmingham (+0.5,+1) 1.90
If you bet on Sunderland, you only win the bet if the Sunderland wins by 2 goals or more, if Sunderland wins by one goal, half of your stakes (assuming you are going for -0.5 handicap) is multiplied by 2.00 and the other half of the stakes will be returned. You will lose the bet if Birmingham wins or draws.
Alternatively, if you bet on Birmingham, you will win if Birmingham wins. If Birmingham loses by one goal, you will lose half of your stakes (assuming that you are going for +0.5 handicap), and loses the entire stake if Sunderland wins by 2 goals or more.
